Brick N. Murphy

Throughout his 30-year career as an attorney, Brick has focused his practice on counseling privately held businesses and financial institutions through complex merger and acquisition transactions, ownership succession planning and commercial real estate deals. His passion for mergers and acquisitions is strengthened by the wealth of experience he brings to joint venture and infrastructure projects.

Brick works closely with business clients from the earliest stages of developing a strategic business case for an acquisition, joint venture or other significant transaction, through drafting and negotiating definitive agreements, and guiding them confidently across the finish line. He cultivates long-term relationships with growth-oriented businesses and is known for his collaborative approach to deal-making. A self-described competitive person, Brick formulates practical “win-win” value propositions that allow parties to navigate complex issues and achieve successful outcomes.

Brick credits his father—a nuclear submarine commander in the U.S. Navy—as his first and most important mentor. He strives to embody the discipline, focus and leadership his father exemplified in every aspect of his legal practice.

Currently, Brick serves on the advisory board of a national lender based in Wisconsin. This engagement bolsters the expertise he brings to financial institutions on a diverse range of credit transactions and collateral protection strategies.

A De Pere, Wisconsin, native, Brick received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Wisconsin. At the center of his life is his daughter, Lilly. Outside of work, he enjoys playing tennis, traveling, reading and practicing Pilates, and he rarely misses a spin class at his local gym.
