William P. McKinley
William "Will" McKinley joined the firm as an Associate in June of 2011. Though born and raised in the cornfields of Western Illinois, Will is proud to call Northeast Wisconsin home. Prior to joining the firm, after graduating from Marquette University, Will served a two-year stint as a corps member with Teach for America, an AmeriCorps service organization that recruits top college graduates to serve as school teachers in high-need/risk school districts across the United States. Placed on the Navajo Indian Reservation in Crownpoint, New Mexico, Will served as a high school special education teacher working with students with emotional and behavioral disabilities. After Will and his wife, Gretchen, had their first child, the McKinleys relocated back to Wisconsin where Will attended Marquette University Law School. During his law school experience, Will volunteered with the MULS Volunteer Legal Clinic; served as a judicial intern with the Hon. William C. Griesbach, Federal District Court Judge for the Eastern District of Wisconsin (Green Bay); clerked for a law firm in Appleton; clerked for Liebmann, Conway, Olejniczak & Jerry S.C.; and served as a judicial intern with the Brown County Court Commissioner's Office. Will graduated with honors from Marquette University Law School in May of 2011. Will devotes a large portion of his legal practice to general litigation dealing with a wide variety of cases in both small-claims court, state circuit court, and federal district court. Will has handled trials in both state and federal court, including a recent jury trial in federal district court. Will is also actively involved in appellate work, and serves as a member of the Firm's Intellectual Property team. Will also has experience dealing with divorce and child custody disputes, and is happy to provide clients guidance on these issues. Will, Gretchen, and their two young children reside in Wrightstown where Will is actively involved in the Wrightstown Lion's Club and the Wrightstown-Greenleaf Optimists Club, and is a member of St. Clare Parish. In his spare time, Will enjoys spending time with his family, finding a good deal at a local auction or estate sale, and enjoying some quiet time in his backyard. Practice Areas
